A-Attendance is very important! If your child misses school, please remember to notify Harvey’s office. The phone number is: 359-4040.
B-Book bag. Check your child’s book bag every day!
B-Birthday. Birthday’s are important. Please notify us if you would like us to celebrate it at school.
C-Calendar. You will receive a school calendar from Harvey’s principal, Mrs. Daley every month to let you know what is happening at school. Please post it somewhere for easy reference.
C-Communication. Communication is important. Feel free to contact us when you have a question or concern.
D-Discipline. Our system for discipline is simple. Classroom rules include: be a nice friend and listen to directions. We work hard to make our classroom a positive and safe place for all.
E-Entering/Exiting. Please help your child learn to enter and exit the building safely.
F-Fun. Fun is what we will have at school. The children spend their day at school “playing” without realizing that learning is taking place.
G-Good times! Good times are what we will have all year long.
H-Homework. Students may have homework. If we are working on something that could be reinforced at home we will send you a note.
I-Important records. It is important to keep all records current. If you move, get a new phone number, or change babysitters, please be sure to inform the school.
J-Join Harvey's PTA. The PTA at Harvey does a lot for every student in the building. The money it costs to join is more than returned to your child.
K-Keys to success. The keys to a successful school year include good communication between home and school, a positive attitude, and good attendance.
L-Library Books. We will be checking out a library book each week. The book will remain at school for us to look at and share with our friends after snack.
M- Money. Money is difficult for a child to keep track of. Please send in any money in a sealed, labeled envelope.
N-Newsletter. A classroom newsletter will go home every Monday. Be sure to look for it.
O-Office. Always notify the Office if you bring your child to school late or need to pick them up early.
P-Phone Number. Please make sure we have your current phone number at home and at work. It’s important that we be able to reach you in case of an emergency.
Q-Questions. Always let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We ’ll be glad to address them.
R-Reading. Reading is VERY important. Please read to your child as often as possible. Daily would be ideal.
S-Silly Songs are what we will sing at school.
T-Thursday Folders will be sent home every Thursday. Please take all papers out and return the folder the next day (Friday.)
T-Toys from home should not be brought to school due to loss, damage and sharing issues.
U-Understanding! Your child is important to us! We will always teat your child with respect, and understanding!
V-Visitor’s Pass. You must always sign in at the office and get a visitor’s pass. It is important that the office knows who is in the building. The safety of everyone is a concern.
W-Wear practical clothing. Have your child wear practical clothing to school. We will make every effort to protect your child’s clothing. Also, please label all jackets, sweaters, backpacks with permanent ink.
X-eXtra clothing. We need to have an ‘extra’ set of clothing at school for every child. Even if your child is toilet trained they may still spill their milk or get paint on them. Please remember to update this clothing as the weather changes or they change in size.
Y-You!!!! Please remember that you are your child’s first and most important teacher. No one can influence your child’s life in the way you can!
Z-Zoom! Sit back and watch your child’s skills take off! You will be amazed and surprised at the changes this year!
