We will miss them.
Here is a brief outline of where we will be headed this quarter.
| Our focus for 3rd quarter Social Studies curriculum will focus on government and the Civil War. We wil be putting the 3 Little Pigs on Trial. Stay tuned for the details. We will end the quarter with a study of the Civil War. I am currently working on getting a trip to the Civil War Museum planned. | This quarter's Science unit is my favorite: Rocks and Minerals. Your child will be an expert in mineral identification by the end of the quarter. There is always a request from the students to bring in rocks from home. Please discourage this, I have an excellent selection of minerals the distict purchased for the classroom. |
| This quarter of Math covers Units 5 & 6. Both of these units deals with fractions. We will also be learning some new ways to graph data. | In Reading and Language Arts this quarter we will start with an animal theme. We will be doing novel units around this theme in a few weeks. The first half of the quarter we will write a research paper about a famous person from history. We will then end with some persuasive writing. |
