Welcome to Third Grade

CLASSROOMS CARE:

As a part of Scholastic's Classrooms Care, our class will be reading 100 books to help donate 100 books to kids in need. When your child reads and finishes a book at home, please write down the title and author and sign it. When this is returned to me at school your child will color in a number. Once we reach 100 books, I will notify Scholastic and they will donate 100 books in our classroom's name. Please help make this a success by helping your child. THANKS!!

UPDATE: We've read 4 books!!! Please remember to bring in the titles of your books when yu read them. I know you are reading at home!!!

Classroom Volunteers:

I am in need of some parents/guardians to come in and test math facts and spelling words. If you are interested in helping, please let me know as soon as possible and we can arrange a time for you to come in. Thanks!

A HUGE thank you to Julie Yust, who organized and helped with the Halloween party! We had healthy orange snacks and some treats. We also played a fun game of Halloween BINGO. The kids had a blast! Thanks to all who donated food and supplies, we all appreciate it.

November Newsletter-you should have recieved this in your Wednesday folder.

2009-2010

Here are some of the pictures from our recent trips and class activities.

Our trip to the one room school house at Hawthorn Hollow. We learned like they did in 1906.

We spent at day at the Kenosha Public Museum and the Kenosha History center learning more about Kenosha's past. We even got to tour the Simmons Island Lighthouse and Keeper's Cottage!

We've been learning about metric measurement in Science.

We've also been working on different things with our First Grade buddies from Ms. Corky's classroom. We've read, made Halloween pictures and stories and gotten to know each other. Pictures coming soon!
