Years at Harvey

This is my second year teaching at Harvey in third grade.

Born

I was born in Battle Creek, Michigan.  After college, I lived in Alaska for one year, then continued my leadership training with a biblical research ministry in Kansas.  I also lived in Massachusetts for one year, Colorado, and Ohio, where I was a copy editor for six years.

Personal Info

I am married to a hard-working man and have three children.  My oldest daughter is heading off to college in the fall of 2009.  My twins will be freshmen in high school in the fall.

When I was young, I dreamed of being a writer and began writing my first book when I was five years old.  I completed this book about my family's pet guinea pigs when I was ten years old.  Throughout my elementary, middle, high school, and college years I also wrote poetry and won various awards.  As an adult, I have had several poems published.  I truly love to read and write and hope to inspire students to love reading and writing as well.
